What is DigDeeper?

DigDeeper is an audio-similarity search engine for electronic music. Drop a reference track and we return up to 100 acoustically similar tracks ranked by similarity score. Built for DJs, producers, and crate-diggers who want to skip the algorithm and dig deeper.

How DigDeeper works

A deep audio model listens to your reference track and turns it into a numerical fingerprint — an embedding that captures rhythm, bass weight, drum patterns, harmonic texture, and atmosphere. None of this relies on metadata: genre labels, artist tags, and popularity are ignored entirely. That fingerprint is then compared against every track in the catalog using vector similarity search, and the closest matches are returned, each scored from 0% to 100%. It works like a reverse music search engine, where the query is an actual song instead of text. Because the matching is purely acoustic, a 1994 jungle B-side and a 2024 release can score 94% similar if they share the same texture and energy — even when their tags say nothing in common.

Who built DigDeeper

DigDeeper was built by Antonio Haas (who DJs as TONEE) and Marc Becker — two house-music obsessives who got tired of the same Spotify Discover Weekly suggestions every Monday. One half DJ, one half engineer, both spending hours digging for tracks that sound right rather than tracks that share a tag. So they built the tool they wished existed. Based between Mainz and Frankfurt, Germany.

Why we built it

Streaming platforms optimize for what people like you tend to play — not for what you're searching for right now. When you're hunting one very specific groove, the algorithm hands you safe averages and crowd-pleasers. Bandcamp browsing is pure luck, and digging through label catalogs, Discogs, and YouTube algorithm holes is slow and noisy. We built DigDeeper to take the opposite approach: focus entirely on the track you drop in, ignore trends and crowd preferences, and surface what actually sounds like it. Skip the trending.
